Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
Honoring the unnamed dead of America's wars, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers was first erected in 1931 to remember the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during World War I. The tomb is guarded 24 hours a day by sentinels from the elite 3rd U.S. Infantry.
